Enhanced Capital Allowances - Air Conditioning
Only certain systems qualify for the Enhanced Capitol Allowance. These have to have a certain level of efficiency.
The high performance Power Inverter and Super Inverter heat pumps manufactured by companies such as Mitsubishi qualify for the ECA.
These new air conditioning units have a co-efficient of performance (COP) of around 4:1, some figures have been quoted in excess of 6:1.
In simple terms this means that for every 1.00kw of electricity provided the system produces 4.00kw of heat or cooling output (hence 4:1).
How do you know if it would qualify (other than the word of the contractor) ? The equipment details can be entered into the Governments web site: ECA Scheme
